Reliance strikes gas in Krishna basin again

New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) made another gas discovery in its Krishna offshore basin exploratory block, the company said. "This is the third gas discovery by RIL in the shallow water block KG-OSN-2001/1," the statement said. "This discovery, namely 'Dhirubhai-38' has been notified to the government of India and Directorate General of Hydrocarbons," RIL said. "RIL is currently evaluating the commerciality of this discovery," the statement added. "RIL had bagged exploration rights for the block in the third round of bidding under National Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP)," the company said. The company holds 100 percent participating interest in the block.
