MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Ltd has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that it has shut down the Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit of its 31-million-tonne a year Jamnagar refinery after an incidence of leakage. It said all other units of the refinery were operating normally. A Fluidized Catalytic Cracker can convert gas oil into light products such as gasoline and naphtha. A team of technical experts is assessing the situation and normalcy is expected to resume in about two weeks, it said. "The shut down of the FCC section is not expected to have any material adverse impact on the company's performance," it said.
