Red Hat and Satyam partner to deliver open source solutions

Bangalore: Open source major Red Hat recently announced its strategic partnership with global consulting and IT services provider Satyam, to provide cost effective open source solutions to its customers. The two companies are also planning to set up a Center of Excellence (COE) and Open Source Lab in Bangalore for developing horizontal competencies and business solutions on Red Hat and JBoss platforms. Speaking at the occasion, Nandu Pradhan, President & Managing Director, Red Hat India said, "We are delighted to partner with Satyam in the open source space. This partnership will allow Satyam and Red Hat to collaborate more deeply on projects. The Open Source Center of Excellence, will be an excellent showcase for customers looking at open source as well. He feels that such strategic tie ups a clear indication that companies have now started to see a great demand and value in the open source business model, unlike the past. Manish Mehta, Director and Senior Vice President, ADMS, SAP & Testing, Satyam said, "Satyam has consistently demonstrated its leadership in providing innovative and creative solutions in the open source technology space. We are looking at non- traditional solutions for customers and are exploring new technologies in the open source space through this partnership." The various services groups are working closely with Red Hat to roll out the COE at Satyam's Bangalore center wherein the leading edge technologies on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and JBoss solutions are going to be showcased and prototyped for customers for both domestic and global markets.
