Ratan Tata Launches Book on TCS

Bangalore ; The salt-to-software Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata launched a book 'TCS Story...and Beyond' that chronicles the story of the country's largest IT exporter. The book, written by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Vice-Chairman S Ramadorai, gives an account of the journey of the company over the past 40 plus years. "This is a narration of the company's transformational journey. Ram (Ramdorai) is a key member of the team which has made TCS into an end-to-end global IT services company," Tata, who is the chairman of TCS, said launching the book. The book recounts the instances like TCS' pioneering role in establishing offshore development centres in the country for global clients, its role in facing the Y2K challenge and the story of its share sale through an IPO in 2004 which was the country's biggest at that time Royalties earned through the sale of the book, published by Penguin Books, will go to TCS' skill development initiative for the physically challenged, 'Maitree', Ramadorai said.
