Ranbaxy to market Mallinckrodt Baker's products in India

NEW DELHI: Ranbaxy Fine Chemicals Limited (RFCL) has entered into a marketing alliance with U.S.-based high purity chemicals manufacturer Mallinckrodt Baker Inc (MBI).
Under the alliance, RFCL will market MBI JT Baker and Mallinckrodt's range of scientific laboratory products in India, Ranbaxy said in a statement Wednesday.
RFCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian pharma major Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited.
Headquartered in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, MBI was formed after the union of JT Baker and Mallinckrodt Chemicals. The company has over 100 years of worldwide experience in high purity products for scientific applications.
MBI has five manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Mexico and Europe with business in over 80 countries.
MBI's expertise rests in biochemistry, separation science, inorganic and organic chemistry, microelectronics, surface and ultra trace analysis.
"The alliance will leverage the technological and product development competencies of MBI and the marketing and distribution muscle of RFCL," Ranbaxy said.
Through this alliance, RFCL will be extending high purity products and services for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, research and development, electronic, environmental and healthcare industries, the statement added.
"This is a significant step in RFCL's ongoing commitment and thrust to become a 'total laboratory solutions provider' for research and analytical needs. RFCL sees considerable synergies between MBI and RFCL to offer enhanced value to the Indian researcher," said Sushil Mehta, director of RFCL.
A leading manufacturer and marketer of fine chemicals, RFCL last year achieved sales worth

RFCL will now cater to a wide range of scientific needs ranging from spectroscopy solvents, ultra trace analysis of impurities, certified reference materials, bioscience products, chromatography columns and SPE cartridges, besides offering the complete range of over 5,000 products of JT Baker and Mallinckrodt brand.
