Rajiv Nair quits Microsoft India

BANGALORE: Rajiv Nair, President of Microsoft India announced his retirement from Microsoft India after 13 years service. Rajiv Nair was Microsoft India's first employee, starting out at the age of 26, in 1990. He is credited with playing a significant role in building Microsoft’s presence in the Indian subcontinent. "He also had a pivotal role in steering the company’s growth in its formative years in India and in recent years has been focused on driving the company’s vision for e-governance. He has also been instrumental in driving Microsoft’s Community Affairs initiatives and mobilizing public opinion on the need for Intellectual Property Rights protection," stated a company release. Prior to being President and Senior Strategic Advisor, Microsoft Asia, Rajiv Nair has held several positions within Microsoft including Managing Director and Regional Director of the Indian subcontinent operations. Besides being the Chairperson of the CII committee on Security and E-Governance and member of the Nasscom Executive Council, among others. "To say the least his absence will create an indelible gap, which will be impossible to fill. We wish him the very best for his future endeavors." said, Microsoft Corporation India, Managing Director, Rajiv Kaul.
