RIM launches Blackberry playbook in India


Bangalore: Research In Motion unveiled its highly anticipated Blackberry Playbook tablet in India. RIM is very hopeful that Playbook will dominate the Indian tablet market. It delivers high-fidelity web browsing including support for Adobe Flash, as well as spectacular high-definition (HD) multimedia, advanced security features and out-of-the-box enterprise support. It includes a Video Chat application and Blackberry Messenger (BBM) support via BlackBerry Bridge. The Video Chat application enables video and voice over Wi-Fi calling between BlackBerry PlayBook tablets in peer-to-peer or enterprise environments using your BlackBerry ID profile. One can experience pop - up notification when a new video call comes in. Playbook can be undoubtedly called as the best multifarious device as you can interact with applications even when video and voice over wifi is on. Video Chat supports HDMI output when in 'Mirror Mode', allow you to display what is on your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet's screen to a larger HD television or monitor. It is available at 27,990 (16 GB), 32,990 (32 GB) and 37,990 (64 GB), depending on the models. Playbook will be distributed nationally through Redington India and Ingram Micro, initially in 100 retail stores across 8 cities and later will expand it others parts of the country. It is to be noted that Playbook will support android based apps also.
