Qualcomm, DCE to host 3G CDMA Workshop

NEW DELHI: Qualcomm, the developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, has announced a two-day 3G CDMA seminar in association with the IEEE chapter of Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) in New Delhi. The seminar, to be held Sept. 4-5, 2006 at the Convocation Hall on the DCE campus, will help students gain a better understanding of the advantages of CDMA2000 and WCDMA and their potential to improve wireless communication in India and around the world. The workshop will be held during TECHWEEK ‘06 and will cover a range of topics, such as: CDMA2000; WCDMA (UMTS); HSDPA; MediaFLO; OFDMA-based systems; and BREW. The sessions will be conducted by Nikhil Jain, chief technology advisor, Qualcomm India; Nakul Duggal, director of engineering, Qualcomm and Christophe Chevallier, senior staff engineer, engineering services group, Qualcomm. In addition to the 3G CDMA seminar, the Company is engaged in a variety of academic initiatives with established institutions, such as the Bangalore Chapter of IEEE, the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
