Hyderbad: With target sales of around 70,000 core licenses in a year, QAI, a process consultancy organization, is betting big on its new e-learning initiative 'EdistaLearning'. The company is also planning to set up a software testing institute under the brand Edista in Bangalore by January next year. Already in talks with educational institutions in Tier I and Tier II cities, QAI is looking for a possible partnership to train students using the Edista platform, reported The Economic Times. The online curriculum under EdistaLearning facilitates knowledge, competence and skill creation in the areas of software engineering and quality management, with over 45 courses under 13 domains. It is an effort aimed at bridging the shortfall of trained professionals in the IT sector. "Being an e-learning initiative, it gives people the flexibility to get trained anytime and anywhere using the Internet or the intranet," said Navyug Mohnot, CEO, QAI. Estimates suggest that in five years, India will have a shortfall of 150,000 IT engineers and 350,000 business process staff. "Reports also suggest that around 1,40,000 people will be recruited by the top 10 IT companies this fiscal," he added.
