Bangalore: Plustek, communications solution provider, has announced the launch of MiniStation MFA500, a multi-purpose server specifically designed for the SMB and SoHo (Small office and Home Office) segments. The MiniStation provides secure, high speed and powerful messaging solution for the SMB users that offers advanced mail function and capabilities such as POP3, IMAP, Web mail, Antivirus and Anti-spam mail security and can also be configured DNS, and FTP/file server, system journal and firewall. "Small and medium sized enterprises need to create a network that they and their employees can depend on. With MFA500, all business activities can be controlled by our customers in-house at an extremely affordable price," said Karen Ku, Vice President, Plustek. Many SMBs and SoHos do not have any dedicated server solution of their own. They generally use third part free email services or other third party servers for their official communication purposes, which doesn't look professional. On top of this, the users get a lot of spam, virus and unsolicited mails. There are nearly 50-60 per cent of SMBs who use their PCs as servers and they end up spending huge amounts in buying stand alone security products. "The SMBs might think that they are spending less in the third party resources, but at the end of the year, the expenses balloon into a substantially higher amount compared to owning a dedicated and integrated server of their own," added Ku. The SMBs can now use the new MiniStation MFA500 from Plustek as a dedicated mail server and configure multiple email IDs as per their requirements. It is easy to configure and manage. There is no requirement of formal training for the SMBs and they do not need any dedicated person to manage it. MiniStation comes with one year warranty and is priced at 48000.
