BANGALORE: The Japanese audio-visual (AV) solutions major, the $1.7 billion Plus Vision Corporation, on Monday said it planned to outsource software from Indian IT firms which would be integrated in its advanced products. “We are planning to outsource software for our portable projectors and electronic copy boards,” Plus Vision Corp deputy director Masahiro Nonaka said at a press conference here on Monday. The company also unveiled the V3 series projectors, said to be the world’s most compact projector. Nonaka said the market for the projector, the first in the micro portable range, is estimated to grow ten times in the next two years. Plus Vision, Nonaka said, was considering to increase its holding in Plus Business Machines, its Indian partner from the existing 10 per cent, but declined to give the specific plans. Plus Business Machines managing director Swadesh Khetawat said the Indian market for projectors was exploding and was expected to double to 15,000 units by next year as against 8,000 units recorded during last year. He said the demand was driven by educational institutions and universities, IT firms, pharma units and other corporates. The prices of the equipment have been falling since the last four years.
