Plastic bag menace
On 19th October '09 we had been to Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta,situated about
74km from Mysore,from Gundlepet it is 18km drive.Temple is situated on top
of hill,it is an adventurous steep 10km drive to reach the temple.At the
bottom of the hill there is a check post collecting entry fee and checking
your baggage for plastic bags etc,a warning is also given that violation of
law can lead to Rupees 250/- penalty.
Our drive through steep mountain was breath taking,cool breeze was so good, you don't feel like returning.We reached top of the hill and we had good darshan of God Gopalaswamy.Temple was built in early 14th century by cholas.we could see and feel the fog around noon and all the 12months such conditions are seen.
Now comming to the point we saw plastic bags and other plastic materials thrown every where, we picked all (possible )plastic materials and those watching us surprisingly informed them that they should not throw anything in that place,because wild animals which roam these place in the night may eat and may not digest thus lead to thier death.We felt that is it possible for our wild animals to continue life journey for ever if this is the way we protect them.
