Bengalore: Paladion Labs, the research innovation engine within Paladion, released their report on "Phishing Threat Intelligence" for H1 2011. The report is an overview of Paldaion Security Operations Center. The phishing attacks have constantly spread their arms across globe. The traditional approach of phishing site detection and take down cannot be the only solution to this giant issue. Financial institutions are rolling out controls that incorporated stronger authentication, better transaction monitoring and more innovative processes in the backend to contain the impact of phishing attacks. Paladion is the largest pure-play information security player in Asia Pacific. It has been ranked in Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific & Technology Fast 50 India-2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009, 2010. Gartner has also included the company in its rating of "MarketScope for Managed Security Services in Asia Pacific"-2008 & 2009 as 'Promising and Positive' player in 2010. The first half of this year has witnessed a number of security breaches on high profile organizations arising from sophisticated attacks andn branded as Advanced Persistent Threats." The report provides an insight to all phishing attacks that were detected and responded to by Paladion SOC from different perspectives- the current trend in launching attacks, user's response to phishing baits and what banks can do to minimize phishing related frauds. The U.S. still continues to be the host of the highest number of phishing attacks and the dot com Top level domain hosts the highest number of phishing sites. The average life of a phishing site is 5-19 hours and they are send as HTML attachments in e-mail rather than hosting on a server. To create a better awareness on security environment, Paladion Labs was formed recently with an objective to research the threats affecting customers and arrive at insights that further enable the technical engineers to design required comprehensive controls. Rajat Mohanty, CEO & Co-Founder, Paladion Networks, said, "Over the last ten years, we are trying to contribute back our learning to the industry in our own small ways. Our vision is to connect the dots and derive insights from the trends that we see through our customer engagements, SOC and primary researches."
