Phillips India appoints Rajeev Chopra as the Lighting Head

Bangalore: Strengthening the lighting sector, the Indian arm of Netherland based health and wellbeing firm, Phillips India has appointed Rajeev Chopra as the Head of Lighting sector. Chopra will be responsible for the overall commercial performance of Philips Lighting business in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. Chopra's key focus will be to further strengthen Philips' position in both consumer and professional lighting in India, while driving the adoption of new lighting technologies such as LEDs, aimed at dynamic lighting and energy efficiency. Prior to this, he was CEO-Asia Pacific for the Philips Lighting Luminaires Business Unit, based in Shanghai, China. He has almost 20 years of work experience across India and the Asia-Pacific region and has held senior leadership positions in companies such as Cisco Systems, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard. Commenting on the appointment, Murali Sivaraman, CEO, Philips Electronics India said, "I am delighted to welcome Rajeev to Philips India. Given his multi-industry and multi-country experience, he will enhance Philips position in the industry by providing lighting solutions to homes and commercial establishments."
