NEW DELHI: Ten days after hiking prices of auto fuels and cooking gas, India's oil marketing companies Monday reduced the price of petrol by over one rupee. The move comes in the wake of global crude prices falling from over $55 per barrel to below $45 per barrel. "The price of only petrol has been reduced while those of all other petroleum products and cooking gas will remain the same," an oil marketing company spokesperson said Monday. The new prices would come into effect from midnight Monday night. Petrol will now cost 37.84 per litre in the capital after a reduction of 1.16. Similarly, petrol will cost 1.21 less in Kolkata and 1.26 less in both Mumbai and Chennai, the official said.
