BANGALORE: Pervasive Software Inc., a global value leader in data infrastructure software, today announced the launch of India operations in Bangalore, to diversify its global capabilities. With the opening of Pervasive’s India Development Center, the company establishes a more diverse product-engineering infrastructure designed to speed the time required for bringing new products to market. The company presently employs more than 25 people at the development center in Bangalore and is actively hiring a variety of technical personnel. The development of product engineering infrastructure in India and planned expansion will allow Pervasive to strengthen its ability to undertake leading-edge product development activities from design to deployment. “Pervasive’s India Development Center will contribute significantly to our globalised product development efforts and we are very confident in the expertise and capabilities of our engineering team in Bangalore,” said Mr. David Sikora, president and CEO of Pervasive Software Inc. “We are beginning to realise some of the benefits of a more globalised production methodology and these benefits are being reinvested back into the business to drive our growth initiatives. With over 35,000 customers globally and India being projected as a software superpower, we are confident of the potential of the Indian software market.” Pervasive has appointed Jaisimha Muthegere, Director of India software operations, to head its India operations. He has over 12 years of experience in defining, directing, delivering and supporting high-quality enterprise software products. “Pervasive is establishing a world-class research and development center by recruiting top-level engineers. Our current plans require a team of the most capable software professionals and we are excited that Bangalore provides such tremendous software talent,” said Mr Muthegere. He adds, “As an extension of the US operations in Austin, Texas, the India Development Center will focus on full-fledged product development including core R&D work, not just maintenance, that will directly address critical customer and market needs.”
