PeopleSoft (Nasdaq: PSFT) on Wednesday announced that it is expanding its presence in India by establishing a new, global implementation, development and support center in Bangalore.

BANGALORE: With plans to aggressively grow the center over the next two years, PeopleSoft will drive job opportunities and continued investment in India. The initiative will provide PeopleSoft customers with higher quality and lower implementation cost solutions. PeopleSoft is partnering with Hexaware to establish the center. "This is an exciting time for India’s technology elite. At PeopleSoft we recognize the importance of tapping into the country’s technology talent, and India has much to offer PeopleSoft, both as a market and a resource. We are proud to make this a home for providing customers with our cutting-edge solutions, and strongly believe in the innovative expertise of the Indian software professional," said Angus McDougall, General Manager PeopleSoft, South Asia. The facility in India will offer a remote configuration capability, providing high-quality service while driving down the cost and time required for implementations and upgrades. As a result, customers can implement PeopleSoft software faster and at a reduced cost. "PeopleSoft Global Services has consistently innovated in order to drive down the cost and time it takes to implement enterprise applications," said Mike Gregoire, executive vice president, PeopleSoft Global Services. "By extending our proven lab-based implementation methodology to India, we are continuing to lead the way in lowering costs and improving a key element of our customers’ total ownership experience." PeopleSoft has been in India since 1999 and has offices in three major cities, Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi. The new facility in Bangalore is expected to open in June.
