Pentamedia Q4 net slips 90%

CHENNAI:Pentamedia Graphics Ltd today said its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, plunged by 89.4 percent to Rs 5 million from Rs 47.5 million in the same quarter previous year. The total income of the company dipped by 64 percent to Rs 16 million during the last quarter, compared to Rs 449 million posted in the corresponding period of 2003-04, a company release here said. For the 12 months period ended March 31, 2005, the net profit declined to Rs 48.1 million, from Rs 68.7 million in the previous year, it said. It said through a court process dated November 11, 2004, Media Dreams Ltd, Kris Srikkant, Sports Entertainment and Intellivision Ltd were merged into Mayajaal Entertainment Ltd. V Chandrasekaran, chairman, Pentamedia Graphics, said the company was concentrating on distribution and digital effects services while Mayajaal Entertainment Ltd was focusing on production and exhibition of TV, film and Internet content. "We have optimized the resources and costs and are in turn looking to give good entertainment and better returns for the stakeholders," he said.
