Pentamedia Graphics to launch 3D ventures in 2004

CHENNAI: Pentamedia Graphics Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 14.61 crore for the year ended March 2004, a 5.72 per cent growth over the corresponding figure for the previous year. The total income during the period stood at Rs 265.70 crore, a company statement said in Chennai. Charting out the plans for the coming months, the Chennai-based company said Gulliver's Travels, the fifth 3D animated feature of the company's production, is now in the making and is expected to be completed in October 2004. Pentamedia Graphics said 'Sinbad: The Secret of Colonis', the sequel to the company's first animated feature 'Sinbad', is gearing up for production. Pre-production of the sequel is already completed and the production will be completed by December 2004, chairman, Pentamedia, V Chandrasekaran was quoted as saying. The company has also announced its seventh 3D feature titled Tarzen & the Aliens, which is in its formative stage. The fifth feature length animated film 'Buddha' is ready and will be released in the first quarter of the next fiscal, he said. 'Buddha, the company's first full-length 2D animation feature, in collaboration with the EDB of Singapore, is completed and will be released in the first quarter of 2004-05,' he said.
