Patni secures contract from Codan Group and Serco learning
Mumbai: Patni has now been appointed to deliver application management services to the Codan group in Scandinavia. The IT and BPO service provider now secured the seven-figure contract over three years for which it will have to provide managed services around some of the core insurance platforms in Scandinavia. Codan Group, a part of the insurance giant RSA Group had invited five leading outsourcing companies including Patni to bid for the application management contract in September, 2009 out of which it shortlisted three vendors in March, 2010 and finalized to appoint Patni in June this year. "We chose Patni because of its in-depth understanding of the insurance sector and the applications that we use to run our business. The team were very open to listening to our specific concerns and we had confidence that they were dedicated to providing a first class service. In particular, we appreciated the involvement of senior executives in our negotiations and Patni's early investment in both the relationship and the region," said Frank Andersen, CIO at Codan. At the same time, Patni has also bagged a seven year contract to deliver an information management platform for schools for Serco Learning. The information management platform for schools, named 'Progresso' is being designed by Serco and developed by Patni. 'Progresso' is a centrally hosted management information platform that provides relevant data, tools and services directly to schools, parents and local authorities. It will be available at the end of 2011 "Progresso will feature leading edge, innovative and intuitive developments such as a Head Teacher's dashboard view of their school with online access to real-time data, including views of school-wide performance on attendance, behaviour and academic progress with drill-down to a holistic view of an individual student," said Mohamad Djahanbakhsh, Managing Director, Serco Learning. Patni and Serco will deliver the new 'Progresso' platform and then optionally host it as a managed service to schools, academies and local authorities.
