Patni bags deal from U.S. air transport body
Mumbai: Patni Computer Systems has bagged a contract from the Air Transport Association of America (ATA) to develop, implement and maintain its data information systems. The database system, ATA Aviation Marketplace, used by more than 150 major suppliers and 60 airlines across the globe, contains more than six million records and facilitates up to 20,000 purchase orders per month for many carriers. The statement from Patni said this would be the first major upgrade to the database system since its development nearly 10 years ago. The company would produce specifications for the database system and conduct all coding and development by early 2011.
