Patni Computers opens delivery center in Mexico
Bangalore: Patni Computers, a BPO and IT services provider has opened a delivery centre in Queretaro, Mexico. This expansion will enhance Patni's services to North and Latin American clients, and help in capturing the market. The centre will provide full range of Patni's services to the customers, which will cover IT consulting, software development outsourcing, contact center operations and business process outsourcing in sectors like financial services, manufacturing, life sciences and communications. This will be Patni's 22nd development centre. The 'near shore' formula will help the customers in these areas to reduce the engagement costs, allowing for seamless interaction on IT development projects with easier management. "This is part of our expansion strategy - to roll out a follow-the-sun model that serves regional markets and gives us more flexibility in utilizing global talent, as we are seeing increased demand from our client base for near-shore resources. Our investment in Mexico allows us to deliver on these demands, and it will generate jobs and economic momentum for a growing region," said Jeya Kumar, CEO, Patni Computers. Patni will open the delivery center in a temporary facility in Tecnologico de Monterrey's Queretaro campus with an initial seating capacity of about 100 full-time workers. The center will then move to a permanent location at Technology Park of Tech De Monterrey in October this year. Patni is planning to gradually expand employment to about 300, with majority of jobs to be filled with local workers.
