Patni Computer to set up campus in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Patni Computer Systems Ltd has announced plans to set up a campus in Hyderabad with an investment of about $113.63 million and possible induction of about 10,000 people over the next few years. Announcing the growth plan, Patni Computer’s Head of Telecom Business Unit, Neeraj Gupta said, “Company had signed up with the State Government for a 30-acre site and sought to develop its facility in a phased manner with a capacity to house 10,000 employees.” Patni Computer made an entry into Hyderabad following its acquisition of Cymbal Corporation for $68 million in November 2004. This acquisition has expanded its role in the telecom strategic business unit (SBU), offering a range of application development and systems integration services for telecom carriers. It added key accounts of Virgin Mobile, Hutchison Telecom and Comcast.
