Patni Computer, SAP sign new deal

MUMBAI: Patni Computer Systems Ltd entered into a strategic alliance with global IT service provider, SAP to jointly focus on the small and medium-size businesses (SMBs) market in India. The partnership would address the high-growth SMB segment, having a market potential of over $160 million and growing at a Compounded Annual Growth Rate of 15-20 percent, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. Patni would provide end-to-end mySAP ERP solutions with special focus on the rubber and tyre industry and would bundle the SAP license in their service offerings and gain access to SAP best practices, solution maps, business scenarios and marketing collaterals for the industry, it said. "We have seen an increased need amongst the SMB organizations, not only in India but across the Asia Pacific market, to utilize IT as a process enabler and a creator of a competitive advantage," Patni Senior Vice President and Head of Enterprise Solutions Milind Padalkar said. Patni recently implemented the mySAP ERP solution at Gujarat Reclaim & Rubber Products Ltd (GRRPL), ensuring streamlined processing of information at the GRRPL plants in Ankleshwar and Solapur and their Head office in Mumbai, it added.
