Bangalore: According to Carol Bartz, Chief Executive Officer, Yahoo its partnership not protectionism is the best way for a company to grow, as not all good ideas come from within. "Companies need to take risks to expand. If everything is about protectionism, then you will be stuck with the limitations of the company," said Bartz, at the Nasscom Product Conclave. If you look at yahoo we can understand that it is partnership that makes Yahoo one of the largest digital content, communication and products company- it has partnerships with companies such as Facebook(social networking), Zynga (games), Monster (for jobs) and Microsoft (search), which is, in fact, in direct competition with Yahoo in certain areas. "We don't have to recreate Farmville or Mafia Wars. That would be crazy. What makes sense is to partner with them so that users have access to great content. Every good idea need not be inside the company. It can come be outside too. Partnership is not about winner-takes-it-all that's overtaking. We do not try to bully our partners," She added.
