BANGALORE: Azim Premji Investments (API) has found a replacement to over look its operations. Prakash Parthasarathy has been appointed as the chief investment officer after Mrinimoy Das resigned on the first week of September. Joining API from iGATE Global Solutions, Parthasarathy will be in charge of managing the wealth of India’s richest man, estimated at around Rs 1500 crore, which is not including Premji’s 82 per cent stockholding in the company. Parthasarathy is a computer engineer from BITS Pilani and has an MBA from IIM-B. Das was the first chief investment officer of API, after Premji decided to hire a private wealth manger rather than the Kotak and Birla SunLife, where he had previously assigned his portfolio management. Das had left the organization to start his own venture.
