Islamabad: Shaukat Tarin, the Pakistani prime minister's adviser on finance and economic affairs, Monday met U.S. Ambassador Anne W. Patterson for wide-ranging discussions on the global financial crisis and its implications for the developed and the developing countries. During the meeting it was agreed that all developing countries must pool their human and material resources to ride out the crisis through dedicated efforts in sync with their multi-lateral institutional support system, The News reported on its website. Tarin also stressed the need for harmonising global efforts to find a solution to the current economic intricacies affecting inter-state relations. Both sides discussed the shipment of 250,000 tones of U.S. wheat to Pakistan according to pre-agreed commodity financing terms. Delivery is scheduled by five ships by the end of March 2009.
