Ozonetel Unveils next version of Kookoo
Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Ozonetel systems, a provider of cloud telephony technology in India, have unveiled the next version of Kookoo.in, Kookoo Telephony 2.0, which is India's first hosted telephony in the cloud. The latest version will allow businesses to interact with their customers by integrating incoming and outgoing SMS.

Ozonetel was founded in 2007 by serial technology entrepreneur Murthy Chintalapati along with his partner Atul Sharma. The flagship of Ozonetel, Kookoo, provides a hosted telephony platform for entrepreneurs and businesses who want to develop their own apps that uses telephony channel. Its primary offering is Cloud Telephony Services through a suite of voice products such as Anytime Anywhere Agent call center software, Virtual PBR/IVR, Wireless PBX, voice loggers, payment processing, and others.

According to the company, Kookoo is an interface or an application interface program between a user's web application and the caller. Precisely, Kookoo functions as an interface between the web application and the caller by taking phone commands from one end and executes on the web. With the current version of Kookoo, it not only enables the businesses to build innovative phone applications, but also provides another channel for businesses to interact with their customers by integrating incoming and outgoing SMS.

Available in centers like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune and more, Kookoo users can get local numbers from all these locations and build their voice services. With the SMS channel enabled, Kookoo now offers 10 digit numbers so that customers can send SMS's to the businesses who are leasing this platform.

Murthy Chintalapati, Co-Founder and CEO, Ozonetel Systems, said, "Even though India is the second largest and the fastest growing telecom market in the world today, with over 740 million telephone users, we have only 50 million Internet users. After realizing the reason behind the lagging of Telephony systems, we saw an opportunity to develop a system that can address this problem by making telephony functions accessible through common web programming languages. Now we are happy and confident that advanced version of Kookoo helps the web-based companies to scale up their business through telephony."

Murthy is a serial technology entrepreneur and is recognized by many Silicon Valley technopreneurs as someone who identifies industry pain points and builds successful business ventures that address the market need. His first venture was Intoto in 1997 at California that used to develop security technologies that were licensed to OEMs like Nortel, Motorola and others. It was later acquired by Freescale Semiconductor in 2008. He also set up Rocsys in 1998 to impact rare skills in Embedded Systems, Real Time OS, Networking and security technologies to graduate engineers. Murthy is a Masters in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Delhi.
