LONDON: Ovum, the analyst and consulting company, announced today that it has appointed Indian firm Intermark Corp to market and sell its services to India and the sub-continent. Intermark, an established distributor of global market information, will resell the whole range of Ovum's Advisory Services, spanning across telecoms, software and IT services (SITS). "We are thrilled with this partnership," says Garvin Lambert, commercial director at Ovum. "The Indian Information and Communication Technologies industry is undergoing profound changes, and we have identified strong demand for the level of expertise and depth of knowledge we bring in these sectors," he says. "Intermark's track record in selling technology research is exemplary and they are very well placed to push out the Ovum name and portfolio to the market." Harish Jagtiani, president of Intermark, comments: "The Indian software and IT services vendor community is fast reorganizing to address vertical industry needs with some of the most important opportunities coming from the Telecom segment, a sector Ovum knows inside out." "Vendors need expert advice in developing marketing and product strategy," he says. "And while application development and maintenance has been the focus of the Indian SITS industry in the past, this is now extending to proprietary products and offer BPO services. On the telecom side, the liberalization of the past 10 years is encouraging new Indian private carriers, basic and mobile to enter the market, all of which, have used technology as a competitive advantage."
