Novell to expand Indian Linux projects team

BANGALORE: In a move to expand Linux Solutions and Open Source projects, Novell Inc has announced that it is setting up an exclusive team of about 40 engineers at its Indian subsidiary, Novell Software Development (I) Pvt Ltd in Bangalore. The team would work with the Open Source community on GNOME, Open Office, Ximian Desktop, Evolution and Mono, making the Ximian Desktop more suitable for global and local needs, a company statement said. Its key objective and challenge was to attract and leverage the Indian IT potential for contributing to the Ximian Desktop and Mono project in various areas, including programming, it said.
