NEW DELHI:Norway based Aker Kvaerner Geo has tied up with SCICOM Infotech of New Delhi to set up a Explorations and Production Data Management center in Noida, near here. The facility will cater to oil and gas exploration companies worldwide. ‘This will be the first such center in India in an off shore setting and its functions will be managed by oil companies owing to the sensitivity of the E&P data,’ a SCICOM Infotech official said adding the deal will give oil companies an option to outsource a part of their requirements. The company is in talks with two major oil companies for offering the data management services. Jointly set up with an investment of $1 million, the center will have 100 employees in the next two years.
