Nokia Siemens unveils $70 Million facility

Bangalore: As a step towards its plans of expansion in India, Finland based telecom solution provider Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has established a new facility at Oragadam near Chennai. The facility shall have an investment of $70 million for the next three years. "With its proximity to the local market improving our responsiveness and reducing the carbon footprint of new network deployments, this additional facility epitomizes our global strategy to build a responsible, customer focused business," said Beresford-Wylie, CEO of NSN. This center shall distribute mobile communications infrastructure along with radio access products, basically mobile Base Station Controllers, Nokia Siemens Networks Flexi EDGE BTS, Microwave Radio and Access line-card products, as well as other telecom equipments. The company also has a manufacturing facility in Kolkata which makes fixed network equipment.
