Nokia Siemens employee dies of eating pastries

Gurgaon: A delicious treat turned fatal for an employee in an MNC, as he died after participating in a 'pastry eating contest'. Saurav Sabbarwal of Nokia Siemens Networking, was choked to death as he gobbled the pastries hurriedly and the food entered his windpipe. The lethal truth was realized only when his colleagues reportedly found him unconscious in the washroom. Max hospital, where Sabbarwal, a resident of Patparganj, East Delhi was taken, declared him dead. As reported in Economic Times, Satinder Kumar, SHO, Udyog Vihar police station said, "They were all having fun when Saurav went to the washroom around 1.30pm. After he hadn't returned for a long while, his friends went into the toilet and found him unconscious." The contest was held at the office cafeteria, though the nature of the contest is not yet declared, that whether it was an informal bet between the colleagues or a part of the company's refreshment measures.
