Bangalore: Nimbuzz has launched a multi community mobile social messenger application for Android handsets. Skype IM, a time-sensitive user interface, has features like home-screen notifications, auto-reconnect, clickable URLs and local social network support. "This application is an addition to the vast network of Nimbuzz, where we have applications for almost all kinds of phones. With the available features in this application, we have ensured better services on the Android platform," said Vikas Saxena, Country Head, Nimbuzz. With home-screen notifications that alert the user on the home screen of activities such as incoming chats while the application runs in the background, a time-sensitive user interface option is added to the software which detects how long the user presses on a contact in the list. A fast click (touch) instantly opens the contacts profile, allows making voice calls, but a long click (touch) opens a live chat window. The application has an auto-reconnect feature which tries reconnection multiple times, whenever a connection is lost, needed the application remains open. The smart buddy list displays information by combining avatar and presence information with community icon and resource information, if the person is online on the mobile or PC, in the same line. Skype IM supports communities like Facebook, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger and ICQ. It has additional support for local social networks like StudiVZ, Hyves, Gadu Gadu, Giovani and has URLs for multimedia chat. "Our Android version is a perfect example of what we do best, integrating Nimbuzz's award winning service to bring the best out of each operating system and handset," said Evert Jaap Lugt, Founder and CEO, Nimbuzz.
