New Delhi: As a part of its retail expansion plans, Nikon India, a digital imaging product manufacturer, plans to hire 200 people in India. The company will increase the reach of its products to around 800 shop-in-shop stores in 2009, compared to the current 100 stores. "Our expansion plans include increasing our sales force. So, this year we would be hiring around 200 demonstrators," said Hidehiko Tanaka, Managing Director, Nikon India. The firm's main target is to achieve 10 percent and 40 per centshare in the estimated one-million unit's Indian compact camera market and the 13,000 unit's SLR camera market, respectively. For the expansion, Nikon India is targeting the major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. It will introduce its 'SLR Zone' concept to stores located in other major cities. The concept was recently launched in Delhi.
