Nexant raises $43 Million in Series B Financing

San Francisco: Nexant, a provider of intelligent grid software and clean energy solutions, has raised $43 million in Series B round of financing led by Oak Investment Partners and Intel Capital with the participation from the existing investors TeleSoft and Beacon. Based in San Francisco, Nexant will use the investment to expand their presence in the energy software and services space. "This new capital will enable us to develop and deploy our new platform, GridSmart, and multiple new applications like TrakSmart for the next-generation power grid. In addition, we will strengthen and expand our Chemsystems offerings worldwide," said Arjun Gupta, Executive Chairman, Nexant. The company offers consulting services and analysis software to help clients improve energy efficiency and manage power grids. Nexant also provides technical, operational, and strategic consulting services to utilities, and oil, gas, and chemical firms. Since its inception in 2000, the company has completed over 2,500 projects 100 countries across the world. "Our clean energy investment strategy targets companies that deliver solutions designed to increase the overall efficiency of the energy market," said Bandel Carano, Managing Partner of Oak Investment Partners.
