New iron that won't burn clothes
London: Appliances firm Ariete has introduced a smart iron called Auto Lift, which comes with micro-sensors embedded in the handle that helps in preventing clothes from burning due to the heat. When the device senses it has been left face down, the feet automatically extend to raise the 2.3 kilowatt steam iron an inch and prevent the hot plate from burning through clothes, reports The Telegraph. Holding up the anti-drip iron causes the feet to instantly retract again and the Auto Lift also shuts off if left unused for eight minutes to minimize fire risk. A spokesman for Italian based Ariete said, "This steam iron revolutionizes ironing. The innovative patented auto-lifting system makes it the only iron that can rise and fall at the touch of a hand."
