BANGALORE: Intransa Inc., the global leader in end-to-end, native IP-SAN, announced today the broadening of its product line with the availability of the Intransa IP3000 Storage System. The new IP-SAN appliance, designed specifically for the mid-tier and small business (SMB) segments, delivers the functionality and scalability of an enterprise-class SAN at dramatically reduced price points. The company also announced today that Wipro Spectramind, India’s leading IT systems and support provider and an established user of the Intransa® IP5000, has recently implemented the IP3000 as its disk-to-disk backup solution without the necessity of adding costly tape drives or Fibre Channel SAN connections. “After evaluating the competing products on the market, we found the Intransa IP3000 delivered the greatest ROI. Moreover, we saw that only the Intransa IP3000 was able to provide the performance and capacity scaling attributes of a Fibre Channel SAN with the ease of deployment and ease-of-use features of direct attached storage,” said Sunil Gujral, Vice President of Technology at Wipro Spectramind. “Intransa IP3000 is a new category of storage system that is challenging the traditional way of implementing SANs by combining ease of management, scalability and high end functionality on standards-based hardware over iSCSI networks,” said Tony Asaro, senior analyst at ESG. “The IP 3000 offers an excellent solution to small and medium-sized business that have budget constraints and are not staffed to support complex SAN environments. ESG research shows that the SMB market is extremely interested in iSCSI SANs with 42 percent of customers surveyed planning to implement within the next 24 months.”
