FRAMINGHAM, MASS: Netezza Corporation, operating in the global data warehouse appliance segment, today announced expansion into new markets with the Netezza Performance Server family of data warehouse appliances. In the first half of 2006, Netezza added 19 new customers - more than double the number of new customer wins in the first half of 2005. New companies signing on with Netezza in the first half of 2006 include CompuCredit Corporation, Global Red, Michaels Stores, Inc., MOS Food Services, Inc. and Orange Home (formerly Wanadoo). Companies who have purchased additional systems include Catalina, CNET and Epsilon. In addition, 16 existing customers expanded their Netezza deployments in the first half of 2006. The company also conquered new geographies, with three new U.S. Federal customers and five new Asian customers signing in the first half of 2006. "Our own market research has shown that the adoption of data warehouse and business intelligence appliances is not just a passing trend," said Dan Vesset, research manager, Analytics and Data Warehousing, IDC. "Our customers rely on Business Intelligence to drive their businesses," said Jit Saxena, CEO and co-founder of Netezza. "Our expanding footprints within existing customer data centers reflect the powerful business value." IDC has called Netezza's data warehouse appliance approach "revolutionary" and recently stated "business analytics appliances are here to stay."
