NEW DELHI: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) plans to introduce self-regulation and internal policing in their business practices to provide IT industry security from employee related frauds. It also plans to set up a database of the employees in the IT and BPO sector that is likely to lend some teeth to the task of verifying employee information at the time of hiring. ‘The database would keep updated information on employees working in the industry and employers would be able to verify employees records. The proposal is at an initial stage,” Nasscom President Kiran Karnik said. “We should work together on reinforcement of law and technology and curb increasing cyber crimes and ensuring safety for the cyber community, but the need of the hour is self-regulation and internal policing,” he said.
