BANGALORE: NasscomÂ’s latest survey of ITeS-BPOÂ’s in India has Genpact crowned as king among the top 15. WNS stood second while Wipro BPO followed at the third position. In 2005-06, IndiaÂ’s fiscal revenue contributed $6.3 billion to total software and services exports of $23.6 billion showing a growth of 37 percent. Kiran Karnik, President, Nasscom, predicted that with the ITeS-BPO constant and continuous growth, exports are expected to cross $8 billion in the fiscal year 2006-07. A steady increase in scales, depth of existing service lines, additions of new specific-verticals and promising niche-business services, continued expansion of service portfolios and higher value processes have been assessed as the factors for the steady growth. With the offshore potential being 12 times the current revenue, the BPO industry has enough space to expand, observed Karnik. An increase in M&A activity could lead to significant consolidation in the industry, he said. The ITeS-BPO industry now needs to focus on how to improve the Indian industry to continue offering quality services to their overseas clients and customers. This would be the theme of deliberation at the upcoming Nasscom India ITeS-BPO Strategy Summit organized at Bangalore on June 7-8. Finance and accounting, customer interaction and human resource administration also showed steady growth accounting for an estimated 89 percent of industry revenues in the fiscal year 2004-05. The survey stated that the steady demand in this segment would not make any significant changes in it in the current year.
