KOLKOTA: Nasscom, the premier body for software and services industry in India, Friday called for setting up of fast track and special courts for speedy disposal of cyber crimes. "We are recommending setting up of fast track and special courts for dealing with cyber crimes since conviction of the criminal is more important than the severity of the punishment," said Kiran Karnik, president Nasscom (National Association of Software and Service Companies). According to Karnik, India is safer compared to other countries where the numbers of cyber crimes are in dozens every week. "We, however, have to expedite conviction to deal with the menace," he said on the sidelines of an ITES-BPO conclave here. The fast track and special courts will help in dealing with the crime, which is specialised in nature, he said.
