NEW DELHI: The National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) and Irish Software Association (ISA) have entered into a pact to cooperate on issues that would support the development of the software sector in India and Ireland. Under the MoU, both countries would exchange research and survey reports and promote learning and best practice from the software industries in both the countries. They will also assist each other in developing contacts in their own jurisdictions. Kiran Karnik, President of Nasscom and Bernadette Cullinan, Chairperson of ISA signed the agreement. Nasscom and ISA would set up a small steering committee, with representation from each association, to identify possible areas of co-operation or business opportunities for member companies. "India and Ireland are today globally recognized as two of the leading destinations for software development and outsourcing. The software industry in both countries is driving the competitiveness of other sectors, promoting employment and entrepreneurship," Nasscom said.
