Nasa postpones enterprise datacenter plans
Bangalore: Nasa has decided to postpone the acquisition of an enterprise datacenter after realizing its enterprise datacenter program did not adhere to its enterprise needs. This follows the shifting of requirements from the Office of Management and Budget, in relation to cloud computing, greening IT, virtualization, and federal data centre leadership, reports Iweb Business.
Estimated at $1.5 billion, the program is one of the five components in its planned IT consolidation. The space agency says that it will still develop a plan to consolidate data centres, systems and applications, including the full datacenter architecture and enterprise assessments.
