NIIT ties up with Infospectrum for research solutions

New Delhi: Talent development and training corporation NIIT Ltd has entered into an alliance with Infospectrum India Pvt Ltd to integrate the latter's Educational Research and Planning (ERP) solution tool with its school learning services. Quick School - Infospectrum's ERP system - can be employed by schools to manage student and teacher information like attendance, fee and schedules in addition to the school's administrative function's like accounting and transportation management. "With this alliance, we will be able to provide ERP tools in our portfolio of school learning solutions to address the complete needs of our clients," NIIT chief operating officer P. Rajendran told reporters. NIIT provides custom learning software for IT and Mathematics among other subjects at school level. The company is currently associated with 7,700 schools in the country out of which almost 90 percent are government schools. Chief executive officer of Infospectrum Jay Chopde said the company currently serves 140 schools with its ERP tool, and after this alliance they would handover the marketing, sales and service of the tool to NIIT. "We will focus on R&D for our ERP suite and NIIT will be responsible for taking the product forward in terms of marketing and sales because of their wider reach," he said. He, however, did not disclose the revenue sharing model between the companies for the ERP saying that the relationship is "sort of royalty" based. "We still have not decided on the exact percentage of break-up of revenue," he told IANS
