NIIT ties up with Indonesian varsity

NEW DELHI: NIIT Ltd., one of India's software development and computer training majors, has entered into an alliance with an Indonesian university to set up a computer education centre there. As part of the agreement, NIIT will provide IT training through its state-of-the-art education centre located at the Faculty of Industrial Technology of the University of Atma Jaya in Yogyakarta, said an NIIT press statement Thursday. "The centre will offer to Indonesian students globally accepted and industry relevant IT education programs designed and developed by NIIT," said the statement. This is the second alliance for NIIT in the island country of Indonesia. NIIT already has a tie-up with the Faculty of Engineering of University of Indonesia for providing IT education. "We are proud to partner with the university and offer young aspirants most relevant IT education using innovative methodology that is being offered in over 30 countries," said Varun Khanna, head of NIIT's international education business. The IT professionals will be trained on latest technologies from Microsoft, Oracle and Sun Microsystems, he added. NIIT has a global network of 2,447 education centres including over 100 centres in China alone.
