NECDS makes way for its LCD desktop display sale in India

Bangalore: "We aim at a 30 million sale of our LCD desktop display in India by the end of this year and will increase it to $50 million by the end of the next year, though we don't have a manufacturing center in India," said Yoshiaki Tsuda, President, NEC Displays Solutions (NECDS), a Japan based display solution provider owned by NEC corporation. He was speaking on the occasion of the company's announcement that they will collaborate with TPV technology, a solution provider in the design and production of PC monitors, to sell their LCD desktop display in India. Through this alliance NECDS will sell value LCD desktop displays such as 15 inches, 17 inches and 19 inches through TPV sales and service network in India. Both NECDS and TPV technology plan to sell 500,000 pieces of display in three years. In India, NECDS has already been selling professional LCD desktop displays, large-screen LCD displays, plasma displays and projectors through NEC India for corporate customers. NECDS designs, with a headcount of 1000, produces and delivers leading-edge visual display technology for a wide variety of markets. The Indian market for LCD products, especially equipment and gadgets with screens, monitors and displays have increased multifold in the last two years." Though a new contract is put in place, NEC India will continue to distribute products of NECDS like professional desktop LCD displays (above 20 inches), large-screen LCD displays, plasma displays and projectors.
