Atlanta: A three-hour-long musical treat presented at the Hindu temple auditorium in Riverdale by TAMA and the Hindu temple of Atlanta rekindled fond memories of the legendary singer and music director of Telugu film industry, Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao and raised funds to help differently-abled children in India, reports Ravi R.P of India Tribune. Highly talented singers from India like Bala Kameswara Rao Thatha, also known as Apara Ghantasala and Surekha Murthy Diwakarla, also known as Apara Janaki, with Mani Sastry, a singer from Houston, Texas, sang musical gems of Ghantasala in a pitch perfect manner casting a spell on the audience that enjoyed the concert asking for more. Local artists Ram Durvasula, Phani Dokka and Prasoona Vempaty with their choice of Ghantasala songs and poems added their own magical touch in making the audience recollect the bygone era of Telugu film music, where minimal sound was used to great effect coupled with exemplary lyrics conveying myriad thoughts and philosophies in a profound manner. The concert was flagged off by literary coordinator Sandhya Yellapragada with a fitting introduction of Ghantasala, singers that participated in the concert, Vamsi Rama Raju, managing trustee of Vegesna Foundation, and Vanguri Chitten Raju, national coordinator of 2010 Ghantasala Aradhanotsavalu in USA. TAMA president Madhu Tata, spoke about Vegesna Foundation and its remarkable help towards differently-abled children back in India. While the event enthralled the audience with its musical content, it also served a fruitful purpose of raising funds for the foundation to continue its appreciable work in helping the less fortunate children. The event was followed by Diwali fireworks organized jointly by TAMA and the Hindu temple of Atlanta
