Mumbai Airport ranks fourth best in the world

By SiliconIndia,Wednesday, 28 July 2010, 03:11 Hrs
Mumbai: Mumbai airport has been ranked fourth in the world for offering best quality services in the category of airports handling 1.5 crore to 2.5 crore passengers per year. It has come to this position by beating international airports of San Francisco and Zurich. The Airport Council International (ACI) that conducts audits on airports awarded the rank.
Mumbai Airport ranks fourth best in the world

Apart from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi is the only other Indian airport eligible to qualify in the category. Seoul's Gimpo International Airport, Vancouver and Taipei airport in China are three airports which have surpassed Mumbai's airport standard.

Airport officials feel enhancement of terminal infrastructure and etiquette training of staff are certainly some of the reasons for upgrading the standard of the airport.

1: Hi Maynak, Of course I can't stop them publishing absurd news. I meant we have to stop reading their news. It seems the administrators are not taking it serious after so many feed backs. I am going to see for a few days. If there is no regret message and corrective action (it should be on the same first page and not in a hidden corner), either I will be un-subscribing it or send all the emails and messages to trash box and circulate the same to all whom I recommended SiliconIndia. - Murali

3: i frequently make two & fro trips from Middle East to Kolkata.
Once i went via mumbai to Kolkata via Jet airways
Experience was like a horror story.
After my flight landed in Mumbai airport it took me one and half hour to move from my plane to the terminal by bus which are of substandard quality compared to ones we find in other major airports.Construction work, narrow lanes & impolite staff was everywhere
Another one hour to board the connecting flight to Kolkata.
Was about to miss the same.
After that experience i always travelled via Dubai to Kolkata.
Not a single glitch till date.
So i am not sure how you obtained this data about Mumbai airport. Before publishing i think you should check your facts properly

5: Wake up Silicon....You can't just publish anything and hope that people read and believe it. This raises questions of all other reports that you publish...how true are they.

6: Totally nonsense. Silicon India News Bureau should make a basic internet search and verification before publishing such info. The ACI ranking is as below.

1st – Seoul
2nd – Singapore Changi
3rd – Hong Kong
4th – Beijing
5th – Kasai
6th – Zurich
7th – Dubai
8th – Kula Lumpur.

Even within India Hyderabad is the best in ranking.

As an International traveler I have seen all these airports and the report is totally absurd. I think time to stop Silicon India News.
