MphasiS, CII partners for corporate social responsibility initiatives

Bangalore: MphasiS, an EDS Company, has announced its partnership with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Karnataka to implement 'Namma Halli' (Our Village) - a corporate social responsibility initiative. MphasiS will work with Srinivasa Services Trust (SST) on the project in Doora Village, Mysore District, Karnataka. MphasiS has made a three year commitment and will provide financial and voluntary support to SST towards the adoption and development of village Panchayat 'Doora' comprising of four villages - Doora, Talur, Muradagalli and Dodda Katuru - located 130 kms away from Bangalore and 21 kms. from Mysore in Karnataka. SST and MphasiS have chalked out a detailed program. The joint goals include deliverables around sustainable economic development, health, agricultural practices, livestock management, education and youth development, waste management and overall human development. The project will involve an investment of close to 28 lakhs over the three-year period resulting in improved access to a better village environment. Jeya Kumar, CEO MphasiS said, "The project will give our employees an opportunity to volunteer, collaborate with local people, and make a recognizable difference to the village environment." "Our partnership with MphasiS is symbolic of a direct connection between industries and the development work at the grass roots level in Karnataka," said S. Viswanathan, Chairman, CII Karnataka 'Namma Halli'. "This partnership will enable us to join hands in an organized manner with the ongoing effort of the government and the civil society to bridge the developmental gap. Our combined aim is to build a self-sustainable model at the end of the project," he added.
